Bradford Live - Rigging Project

Height Sure Ltd was appointed by a leading audio equipment installation company to provide specialist support in the form of rope access rigging operatives for the installation of permanent rigging systems at Bradford Live.
The scope of works involved the installation of approximately 23 permanent rigging points designed to support truss systems, theatrical curtains, lighting, line array speakers, and end-of-line subwoofers. All works were completed in accordance with client-provided rigging plans, which were independently cross-checked and verified by our in-house Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) and LEEA-qualified rigging manager prior to installation.
Height Sure worked closely with rigging designers and audio engineers throughout the project to ensure the final system configuration achieved optimal acoustic performance for the venue, while maintaining full compliance with all relevant lifting and safety regulations.
The use of rope access enabled the works to be completed safely and efficiently with minimal disruption to the venue. Due to space constraints on the main stage, traditional access equipment was not suitable, making rope access the most effective and practical method of access for this project.

Hounslow Glazing Replacement Project
Height Sure Limited was commissioned to develop a specialist solution for replacing glazing at the top level of a 110-metre building in Hounslow, Greater London. Due to the courtyard-style design, surrounding streets, and existing street furniture, it was not possible to install the 200 kg glazing units using a conventional ground-based crane.
Height Sure’s Rigging and Lifting Manager, who holds AP Lift Planning and LEEA qualifications, designed an innovative alternative solution. This involved dismantling a large floor-mounted crane and reassembling it on the roof of the 110-metre building.
Using rope access and advanced rigging techniques, Height Sure technicians dismantled the crane into individual components, transported them safely to roof level, and rebuilt the crane in its final position. Following reassembly, a qualified LOLER technician carried out a full inspection in accordance with LOLER 1998 to confirm the crane had been correctly and safely reinstalled.
Once operational, technicians installed tensioned stabilisation lines running from the roof to weighted anchor points at ground level. This system ensured the glazing units remained stable during lifting and installation, even in light wind conditions.
A team of five rope access and rigging technicians worked in close coordination throughout the operation. Clear communication was maintained at all times between the Lift Supervisor, Crane Supervisor, Ground Anchor Supervisor, and the glazing technicians working on ropes, with all coordination carried out via radio communication.
Height Sure successfully replaced all 12 glazing units safely, delivering the project on time and within budget.
